DAY 1:

San Jose – Transfer to your hotel. Arrival briefing.

DAY 2:

San Jose – Early departure for our city tour which will include the National Theater and the National Museum with its impressive exhibits of natural history and pre-Columbian art and artifacts. At night we’ll enjoy a typical dinner with music and entertainment by a group of folkloric dancers.

DAY 3:

Monteverde – Today we drive to the Poas Volcano where on a clear day we marvel at the spectacular view of the crater and lagoon 300 ft below.
We continue to the world famous Monteverde region in the Tilaran Mountain Range.

DAY 4:

Monteverde – A full day to explore this beautiful cloud forest.
There are more than 400 species of birds, 100 species of mammals and 2,500 species of plants adorning this forest.

DAY 5:

Carara – Jaco Beach – Journey to the Pacific Coast. Before arriving at Carara National Park we will stop at the Tarcoles river to admire the enormous crocodiles which are abundant in that area. At Carara we will take a hike on the trails of this unique transitional forest (transition between the rainforests to the South and the Tropical Dry forest of Northwest Costa Rica) and we’ll be on the lookout for the beautiful Scarlet Macaw among many other animals and indigenous plants. We continue along the Pacific coast to the colorful beach town of Jaco.

DAY 6:

Manuel Antonio National Park – Today we take an excursion to this beautiful national park where you will enjoy the wildlife and spectacular vegetation. Your guide takes you through some of the trails of the park to end up at the secluded 3rd beach, a gigantic natural “swimming pool” with beautiful white sands. Return to Jaco Beach for dinner and overnight.
