DAY 1:

San Jose – Fly into a city surrounded by colorful mountains. Arrival briefing.

DAY 2:

Tabacon Hot Springs – San Carlos – Visit the Arenal Volcano, possibly the most active volcano in the world. Enjoy a swim in the hot therapeutic waters of Tabacon Springs near the base of the magnificent volcano while you admire the spectacular scenery of the volcano erupting at night.

DAY 3:

Cano Negro Lake – San Carlos – Travel North to the splendid Cano Negro Lake and Wildlife Reserve. Enjoy the boat trip through one of the channels of this Reserve (which covers nearly 2,000 acres) and keep your eyes open for the exotic wildlife such as the wonderfully camouflaged Potoo bird, monkeys, a variety of reptiles and an abundance of wetland birds.

DAY 4:

Northern Plains – La Cruz – Travel to the small town of La Cruz, overnight at Los Inocentes Lodge and Ranch within a lush tropical forest near the breathtaking Orosi Volcano. Horseback riding is an excellent option at this location.

DAY 5:

Santa Rosa National Park – Tamarindo Beach – On the Northwest side of Costa Rica we’ll be able to admire one of the last dry tropical forests in the world. Stop at the Santa Rosa National Park, a historical site. Arrive at Tamarindo Beach for overnight.

DAY 6:

Tamarindo Beach – Enjoy a free relaxing day at this beautiful beach known for its sea turtle nesting sites and many sea birds (including oyster catchers and brown pelicans).

DAY 7:

San Jose – Return to the busy capital for a memorable dinner and overnight.

DAY 8:

Departure – We go to the airport for your flight back home.
